Firefox 2.0.0.12 problem

Today, upon loading, Firefox automatically updated itself to version 2.0.0.12. Immediately after that happened, I could no longer access internet with it, so I'm using IE now. The official Dutch forum had a topic that told about a very serious security problem. Perhaps that's a reason why it doesn't work. Does anyone have a similar experience?
