Why do you leave the default placement on for offensive operations? I know that for me at least, all I do is organize the troops and leave them for others to set up how they want. Defensive, yeah I can see you leaving them alone.

Well I wasn't sure if Sergei had set it up that so that you start off that way or not. So since I was playtesting I decided to let it go. Another reason is because with a few exceptions it wasn't a bad placement of troops. Nothing that a couple little move orders could fix. And probably the biggest reason, laziness. I didn't feel like repositioning a battalion.

A word of warning, as I just noticed myself: the supply level is set very low. I did this to reflect the bad shape of roads and the problems this caused to large concentrations of forces, but now I think that it might be a bit too low and it will be raised in the next version. Just so that you'll know to save some ammo...
And yeah, the initial deployment should work ok. You anyways can't deploy all the troops into one line until you get across that narrow isthmus between the lake and the swamp. |

I think you did a good job of advancing your infs up w/ your armor. That is the hardest thing to do. If you do it sloppy, your men will pay for it. Especially for russki green troops. Panic the minute a bullet whizz by their head. Look forwad to read the next order of battle. Next avatar by the way. |

Any chance we can get a simply AAR or even movie files from that battle?I have played The Road to Moscow before PBEM as the germans and I won a total victory,70-30(though in hind-sight,I think I was playing against a lesser experienced opponent) I still have the movie files from my battle,and would be willing to trade some in exchange for seeing how yours turns out This can even be done privately if you or Phantakorr dont want it public. -------------------- MZO 2007 Fantasy Football CHAMPION. Sorry I only keep the current game file on hand. My simple mistake is taking T34s headon with PzIIIJs and buttinh heads. Very simple, T34 has harder heads and I lose. Right now I got one Panzer IV left to his 3 or 4 T34s. Another fact is those German Egineers are not holding thier own in the town. I am hanging on by a thread right now.
